Afreen R. Ahmed
Associate Attorney
Afreen Ahmed is a native Houstonian who is proud to serve her community through competent and compassionate legal services. After growing up in Houston, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2001 from the University of Texas at Austin, and her law degree in 2004 from the University of Texas School of Law. She then moved to New York City, where she began her career in family law at the Legal Aid Society where she represented abused and neglected children in Manhattan Family Court. The experience exposed her to a diverse group of families and children and the ways in which the legal system can affect families for better or for worse.
Eventually, she returned to her Hometown of Houston, TX, where she continues to practice family law as well as some immigration law. She enjoys helping individuals and families navigate the difficult processes of separation, divorce, and custody disputes with dignity and confidence. She has completed additional training in family law mediation and collaborative family law. She is also fluent in Urdu/Hindi.
Outside of work, Afreen spends most of her time being a mother to three amazing teenagers.
